Greetings
from the Flatlander!
If
you've visited the Flatlander's
Guide, then you've only seen a few of the
beautiful destinations Whidbey Island has to offer.
During my 4 year adventure (I'm back in the flatlands in
Kansas) I was overwhelmed with all there was to do and
see there... I barely scratched the surface!
Among
the many messages I receive each day... asking advice on
favorite places to see, or just sharing memories of past
visits... I'm most often asked where to get hold of maps
featuring Whidbey destinations.
Town
Graphics, a popular area publisher of those colorful
maps you'll find on the ferries has joined me in
presenting you with a way to get them RIGHT NOW, with
our downloadable discovery maps!
Maps
are downloaded in PDF format, which also allows you to
zoom in for closer inspection of areas of particular
interest... OR, print them and tape
to your bathroom mirror!
(Looking
at these long enough guarantees you absolutely WILL make
it to Whidbey Island!)
Best
wishes... AND ENJOY!!

Island area map (above left) offers some
insight on which part of the island may best match your travel
and recreation interests. Deception Pass area map (above
right) gives perspective on north end access to Whidbey
Island, as well as highlights popular walking trails in and
around Deception Pass State Park. (If you haven't seen
pictures of this area, check out my Google
Image Search.)

The Central Whidbey Island area map (above
left) features attractions from Greenbank, up to Coupeville
and a bit beyond. The Central island offers an agricultural
feel... how I miss passing by the fields of lavender, and
visiting the Greenbank Farm for a taste of wine and a piece of
Mrs. Gunn's Marionberry pie. The Penn Cove (as in Penn Cove
Mussels) area map (above right) highlights attractions/shops
in the waterfront walking district... a good place for lunch
and afternoon stroll.

The North Whidbey Island area map (above left)
features attractions around Oak Harbor, home of Naval Air
Station Whidbey Island, and expanded commercial shopping (as
well as all the great waterfront parks and proximity to
Deception Pass). The inset includes close up detail of
downtown Oak Harbor. The South Whidbey Island tourist map
covers Clinton (including illustration of the Clinton/Mukilteo
ferry dock), Freeland, and Langley... known as the
"village by the sea"... great food, thrift shops,
art galleries, wonderful shops and Whidbey Coffee!
